Bring Back the
15C

Why the landscape layout of the HP15C keyboard is the better design than the portrait layout of most calculators.

I suppose the reason some people think the portrait layout is better is because they don't know the proper way to hold a landscape layout calculator. With a portrait calculator you hold the calculator with one hand and press the keys with the index finger on your other hand. When using a landscape calculator, the correct way to hold it is with both hands. With the palm of your hand up, your palm and fingers will support the calculator, while both thumbs are used to press the keys.

This method demonstrates why landscape is superior to portrait layout. Holding the calculator as described above, your two thumbs (being the marvel that they are) can traverse the keyboard much more rapidly than your hand and index finger can.

When using a calculator at your desk with your computer, landscape layout also fits on the desk under the keyboard much better.
